After over 7 years of hard
work by Akeley Village Hall Committee and its supporters, the
village of Akeley in Buckinghamshire now has a splendid new hall
for use by its residents and local community groups. This is
particularly momentous because Akeley has been without a village
hall for several years, the original 1928 hall having
been demolished when it reached the end of its useful life.
The new building provides
excellent facilities, with a 127 square metre main hall,
entrance area, toilets, a well-equipped kitchen and a separate
storage room. The hall is reached via a new access road and has
a very good-sized car park which was also constructed as part of
the group's project.
